Our science

Backed by research, not marketing

Every active, the exact amount we use, and what the published human research does — and does not — show for it. Where the evidence is thin or the dose is below what trials used, we say so on the card.

  • No proprietary blends
  • Every dosage listed
  • Evidence graded, not implied
How we formulate

Our formulation philosophy

We don't hide behind proprietary blends.

Where an active has been tested in people, we tell you the dose those trials used and how ours compares. Where it hasn't, we say that too.

  • Evidence-based

Where human trials exist we cite them and link the paper. Where they don't, the card says so instead of implying otherwise

  • Full transparency

No proprietary blends. Every dosage listed clearly on the label

  • Doses in the open

Every active in milligrams, set beside the dose used in the published research so you can judge it yourself

Ingredient evidence

The research behind each active

Every active across all three formulas, with the dose we use and what the published human evidence actually shows — including where it is thin, mixed, or absent. Links go to PubMed so you can check us.

Brahmi

Bacopa monnieri

200 mg per capsule · 400 mg at the 2-capsule serving

Human trials

A 2012 systematic review of six randomised controlled trials (300–450 mg/day of standardised extract, 12 weeks) found Bacopa improved performance on 9 of 17 memory free-recall measures. The reviewers noted little evidence of benefit in other cognitive domains and described the field as early. At our two-capsule serving the daily amount sits inside the range those trials used.

Shankhpushpi

Convolvulus pluricaulis

100 mg per capsule

Preclinical only

A 2022 umbrella review in Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews summarises the research on Convolvulus pluricaulis for memory, calm and antioxidant activity. That underlying evidence is laboratory, animal and computational. We could not find an adequate human trial, so this is traditional use supported by preclinical work — not a clinical result.

Ashwagandha

Withania somnifera

50 mg per capsule · 100 mg at the 2-capsule serving

Human trials

A 2022 meta-analysis of 12 randomised trials (1,002 participants) found reductions in stress and anxiety, with a dose–response favouring 300–600 mg/day. The authors rated the certainty of that evidence as low. Our amount is well below that window — it is here as part of an eight-botanical blend, not as a standalone stress dose.

Shatavari

Asparagus racemosus

50 mg per capsule

No human cognitive study

Included for its traditional role as a balancing adaptogen. We are not citing a study here on purpose: the robust human trials on Shatavari are in menopausal symptoms, lactation and muscle strength, not cognition. Attaching one of those to a focus formula would not be honest.

Traditional use No cognitive trial
No human trial to link to. We would rather say so.

Malkangni

Celastrus paniculatus

25 mg per capsule

Preclinical only

Known in Ayurvedic texts as the 'intellect tree'. The published research is animal work; the one registered human trial has published its protocol but no results, and proposes 1,000 mg/day. Traditional use, preclinical evidence.

Traditional use Preclinical
No human trial to link to. We would rather say so.

Bhringraj

Eclipta prostrata

25 mg per capsule

Preclinical only

A restorative botanical in classical formulations. The available research is animal and largely topical rather than oral, so we make no cognitive claim for it.

Traditional use Preclinical
No human trial to link to. We would rather say so.

Amaltas

Cassia fistula

25 mg per capsule

No relevant human study

Used in traditional herbal systems for internal balance, and included in that role. The one human trial we found is unrelated to cognition, so there is nothing here we would present as evidence.

Traditional use
No human trial to link to. We would rather say so.

Vach

Acorus calamus

25 mg per capsule

Preclinical only

A classical nervine used for clarity and alertness. Published work is animal-model only; no human trial at a supplement dose was found. Traditional use.

Traditional use Preclinical
No human trial to link to. We would rather say so.

Red Korean Ginseng

Panax ginseng C.A. Mey

500 mg per capsule · 1,000 mg at the 2-capsule serving — All Day Energy

Human trial · mixed

A 2013 randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial gave 1 g or 2 g a day for four weeks to 90 people with idiopathic chronic fatigue. Being straight about the result: the primary total-fatigue score did not beat placebo at either dose. Mental fatigue scores did improve at both, and a second fatigue measure improved only at 2 g. Our full serving matches the 1 g arm. The participants were fatigue patients, not healthy adults.

Sea Buckthorn

Hippophae rhamnoides

500 mg per capsule · 1,000 mg at the 2-capsule serving — Skin Hydration

No hydration trial

Sea buckthorn is one of the few plant sources of palmitoleic acid (omega-7), alongside omega 3, 6 and 9 and vitamins A, C and E. Human studies confirm that taking it orally measurably changes the fatty acid profile of blood and tissue. What we will not tell you: there is no human trial measuring skin hydration after oral sea buckthorn, at our dose or any other. The compositional case is real; a proven hydration result does not exist yet.
